Laser Hair Removal
Offering Safe, Natural Cosmetic Dermatology Services for Boulder, Denver, and Surrounding Colorado Communities
Regular hair removal, both shaving and waxing, can be time consuming and uncomfortable. Whether you're a man or a woman, finding a permanent solution to hair removal might sound like a dream come true.
Fortunately, Rinnova Skin and Body has a solution. With laser hair removal, Dr. Becker and our certified medical aestheticians can precisely and safely remove hair from almost any area of your body. With only a few treatments, the results become permanent.
Long-Lasting Hair Removal
At Rinnova Skin and Body, we use the GentleLase Pro Laser. In clinical studies, it has been proven to be the most effective laser hair removal device for most skin types. While it is less painful than many competing lasers, there is usually some mild discomfort at the time of the procedure, which resolves quickly after the treatment.
Laser hair removal treatment is a process. We usually recommend a series of six visits as part of your laser hair removal treatment, each one about four to six weeks apart, depending on the area. What the laser will do is target your hair, and super heat the follicle so that it dies, and does not continue to grow hair. Since the laser targets the hair by pigment, darker hair reacts better to laser hair removal.
We can use the GentleLase to remove unwanted hair from the:
- Bikini Area
- Hands and Feet
- Upper lip
What to Expect
At a consultation, one of our medical aestheticians will take a look at the area and let you know if you would be a good candidate for laser hair removal. If you and the aesthetician decide to do a treatment, you will need to shave the area (no waxing or plucking for six weeks beforehand). Then you will be given eye protection, and the aesthetician will use the laser to zap the area. Typically, each pulse feels similar to a snap from a hot rubber band. Afterwards, we will apply sunscreen to reduce any discomfort.
There is no physical downtime after laser hair removal, typically just some minor redness and potential swelling. However, you should not be in the sun for two weeks before or after any laser treatment, as this can cause hyper pigmentation.
