Chemical peels can be used to improve the appearance of the skin on your face, neck, and even your hands. It is basically a chemical solution applied to your skin that causes the dead skin to exfoliate and peel. The result is new, rejuvenated skin.
Benefits of Chemical Peels
Facial peels remove the damaged outer layer of your skin to reveal a new, glowing complexion beneath. Chemical peels are a wonderful option to improve the appearance of:
- Age and liver spots
- Sun damage
- Rough, dry skin
- Coarse skin tone
- Uneven skin pigmentation
- Fine lines and wrinkles
What to Expect
During your initial consultation, a member of our trained staff will assess the current condition of your skin and work with you to create a custom treatment plan specific to your aesthetic goals.
During your facial peel appointment, your face will be cleansed before the application of a solution to your desired treatment areas. You may feel a slight stinging sensation until the solution is removed from your skin and a neutralizing agent is applied. Depending on the type of peel you have, the discomfort may vary. Our talented team will help ease any discomfort during your treatment.
We have several different types of peels to address different concerns. The different peels we have are:
Glow and Go Peel
Our quick and easy peel, for anyone who wants to effortlessly rise and shine! We can adjust this peel to several different levels, for almost any concern. Using our own glycolic formula, this treatment mildly exfoliates your skin. The stimulation of fresh, healthy skin cells, produces a softer, more radiant complexion. Our Glow and Go peel is ideal for people who wish to improve the appearance of:
- Slight sun damage
- Uneven pigmentation
- Fine lines
This peel requires very minimal downtime, and you’ll notice some dryness and peeling around one to seven days after the treatment. You may have some redness and a slight tightness to your skin, as well as minor flakiness while the dead skin cells slough off. Facial moisturizer will help encourage the healing process, and you should avoid prolonged sun exposure for seven days.
Total Transformation Peel
Our Total Transformation Peel is for those of you who want to see some serious change in both skin tone and texture. This procedure targets deeper skin cells, ensuring that even the most stubborn issues are eradicated. Using our own TCA formula, we are equipped to treat just about any concern. This treatment is best suited for patients who suffer from:
- Sun damage
- Minor acne scarring
- Age spots
Since TCA peels target a deeper level of the skin, this treatment requires more downtime. You will notice redness and swelling, which can last around seven to fourteen days. There should be no sun exposure for the duration of your healing period.
Our VI Peel is the most dedicated peel for clearing up the appearance of melasma. It is also formulated for smoothing out skin texture and improving signs of aging. The revolutionary VI Precision Plus Peel is a special formula that combines positive aspects of several chemical peels, providing an incomparable treatment experience. It is best suited for patients who suffer from:
- Acne Scarring
The VI peel requires after care at home. You will be sent home with a kit of cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreen, as well as instructions for your care. You should expect five to seven days of down time, as you will peel heavily during this time.
Breakout Blaster Peel
Our Breakout Blaster Peel targets breakouts of all kinds. Our own Beta formula allows us to target superficial or deep seated break outs, resulting in flawless, glowing skin. If you are generally acne-prone, you can do this treatment regularly to prevent break outs, or if you want to speed your healing, you can do this peel during a break out. This treatment is best suited for patients who suffer from:
- White heads
- Acne vulgaris
Since our Breakout Blaster Peel targets acne, we do not recommend doing this peel alongside another prescription acne treatment, such as retinol. Mixing these two can cause serious reactions. There is minimal downtime to the treatment, from one day to seven. You will have some redness and peeling during this time. You can combine this with our newest Rinnova Skincare product, the Clarifying Mask with active zinc and sulfur to target acne blemishes.
Our newest line of European peels can target a variety of skin concerns. The Glytone family of peels uses a patented technology to deliver outstanding results by penetrating deep into the skin while still being tolerable to patients. At Rinnova Skin & Body, we focus on your needs by choosing the proper peel for you. We have several options to address:
- Premature aging
- Blemishes and acne
- Fine lines and discoloration
We even have a fantastic eye and lip peel to treat signs of photo-aging. Your skin will look and feel better after a series of these pampering peels.
Most of these peels have very little downtime and redness or peeling can be covered by an application of Glo Minerals foundation or pressed powder. Glytone has been touted by the press and several beauty magazines to enhance your skin and treat the signs of aging. Don’t forget to ask about our KP Kit that treats keratosis pilaris, a common skin condition that appears as tiny bumps on the upper arms, thighs and cheeks.
Facial Phenom Peel
Our Facial Phenom Peel is our most intense peel. Dr. Becker has introduced this highly effective phenol peel to give you results that were only a mere dream before. This treatment is ideal for patients looking to address:
- Deep acne scarring
- Deep wrinkles
- “Crepe”-y skin
Phenol peels go very deep, and require long periods of downtime. The procedure involves partial sedation, so you will need a driver the day of your procedure. You will have to return regularly for the first week after, and you will notice swelling for at least ten days. You will also experience redness, which can last several months (but can be covered by make up). The results are permanent, although continued aging will set the process back after a few years.
